Introduction:

Oncology department at Khyber Teaching Hospital is recently established department for patient suffering from different type of blood and solid organs cancers. It is only second oncology department in whole Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Oncology unit KTH aims to provide high quality care in line with international standards.
KTH is a tertiary care hospital with multi-disciplinary services under one roof. Our oncology patients receive multidisciplinary medical attention from doctors and nurses in the emergency room, intensive care unit (ICU), special care units, coronary care units, hemodialysis and diagnostic units, if needed.
Every case of cancer is different and at the Khyber Teaching Hospital, our oncology experts recognize this only too well. Our oncologists have set up multiple site-specific tumor boards where cases are routinely discussed to determine the best course of action for our cancer patients.
Our specialists understand that cancer can be difficult for patients and their families, sometimes leaving you confused, alone and lost. At the Khyber Teaching Hospital, patients can attend specific support groups to speak with other patients and families who are going through similar situations. Doctors and nurses also attend to provide tips and information on how to deal with the disease.

VISION & MISSION

Our moto is “WE CAN”.
In KTH Oncology, our ambition is to reach and improve the lives of our patients living with cancer, and inspire many others to do the same.
We support people from the point they suspect they might have cancer right through diagnosis, treatment, living with and, sadly for some, dying from cancer. We also care for their family members, friends, and work colleagues.

We want to establish site specific tumor boards and cancer support groups as well as post graduate residency programme.
The aim is to conduct clinical research trials for patients in order to find answers to the questions.
