Zakat Section Workflow
1: Introduction:
The Zakat Section functions under the direct supervision of the Hospital Director, who is the overall authority. Under the Director:
The Incharge Zakat is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of Zakat-related services.
The team includes a Clerk, JCT (Junior Clerk/Technician), and coordination with the Local Purchase (LP) Contractor.
2: Workflow Process:
The Zakat section is designed to support deserving patients by providing free medicines and healthcare support funded through the Zakat program. The process is as follows:
Step 1: Application and Verification
Patients in need of financial assistance submit Zakat applications online. The Clerk is assigned to review and verify these applications, checking patient eligibility as per Zakat guidelines and hospital policies.
Step 2: Approval and Medicine Procurement
Once the patient is verified and found eligible, the Incharge Zakat forwards the requirement for medicines to the LP (Local Purchase) Contractor. The LP Contractor arranges the required medicines based on the prescription and approved application.
Step 3: Medicine Receiving and Cross-Check
The medicines provided by the LP contractor are received and cross-checked by the JCT or Clerk to ensure: Correct quantity and type of medicines Proper packaging and expiration validity After verification, the medicines are handed over to the eligible patient free of cost.
3: Objectives and Ongoing Improvements
The primary objective of the Zakat section is to facilitate poor and deserving patients by providing timely and transparent support.
The hospital is actively working on improving the efficiency of the Zakat section by:
Enhancing digital verification processes
Ensuring timely delivery of medicines
Monitoring vendor (LP contractor) performance
Minimizing delays in medicine provision
Improving record-keeping and audit transparency
