A Detailed Visit of the Board of Governors to Khyber Teaching Hospital – MTI KTH Peshawar took place on 2nd January 2026, the Chairman, Board of Governors (BoG), Dr. Wajid Ali, along with esteemed members of the Board, Dr. Rubina Gellani, Dr. Umair Bilal, Mr. Taimur Shah, Mr. Khwaja Tanvi, and Eng. Ihsan Ullah paid a comprehensive visit.
The delegation was accompanied by Dean Khyber Medical College Prof. Dr. Mahmud Aurangzeb, Hospital Director – Dr. Muhammad Zafar Afridi, Medical Director – Associate Prof. Dr. Awais Naeem, Director Finance – Mr. Abdul Waheed, Associate Hospital Director – Asst. Prof. Dr. Sajjad Dawar, along with senior managerial staff and the BoG Secretariat.
During the visit, the Chairman and BoG members inspected various key departments, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Department, EPS, laboratories, and Nursing Hostel, to review operational processes, infrastructure, and overall service delivery.
The delegation conducted a detailed visit to the hospital laboratories, where they reviewed diagnostic workflows, turnaround times, and quality control mechanisms.
The Chairman and BoG Members shared their professional expertise and constructive recommendations to further enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service standards, ensuring best practices in laboratory services.
The Chairman also visited the Sehat Sahulat Card Office, emphasizing the need for smooth, efficient, and patient-centered facilitation for the public. Various clinics were also visited to assess patient flow, procedural efficiency, and patient satisfaction firsthand.
Special focus was given to the nursing residential area, where matters related to clean water storage and supply were reviewed. The Chairman directed that the outdated water system be replaced immediately with a new and sustainable system.
The task was assigned to the relevant department for swift implementation, recognizing access to clean water as a fundamental necessity.
Concluding the visit, the Chairman advised the hospital administration not to compromise on patient care and staff facilitation, reaffirming the Board of Governors’ commitment to continuous improvement in healthcare services, infrastructure, and working conditions at Khyber Teaching Hospital – MTI KTH Peshawar.
